The Great Pacific Garbage Patch

The Great Pacific Garbage Patch

Capt. Charles Moore of the Algalita Marine Research Foundation first discovered the Great Pacific Garbage Patch — an endless floating waste of plastic trash. In his talk to TED he shows some disturbing images of just how bad the situation has gotten – and it’s a global problem.

You can buy certified organic produce in any grocery store. But, as a result of human neglect and negligence no fishmonger in the world can sell you organic, wild fish because every EVERY fish in the sea has consumed plastic – plastic that we humans have allowed to enter their ecosystem. Humans are the only creatures on the planet that create waste that nature can’t digest.
